 Grooming Seminars
Please contact me privatly
I will be holding various grooming seminars this year on BRT grooming. This is a private seminar and you must register to attend. Every dog is groomed differently due to coat texture and appearence as well, so your dogs can be the star of the seminar. The cost is $60 per dog to be trimmed. I will also be trying to bring a dog from home that REALLY needs a clip. LOL Just in case no one wants there dog to be the test subject.. LOL Thank you and please let me know if you are intrested and I will let you know when I will be in your area or if you will trave let me know that as well. When writing to me please put down your address , name and dogs name and info (parents, age, have they been groomed before) Thank you and I can't wait to see everyone. I will not be posting on this forum with any information reguarding the seminars

 Re: Grooming Seminars
Hi Missy. When you are done grooming Juri this time, I would be interested in setting up a lesson to be taught how to maintain his cut. I am willing to travel to you, or if you are in NC and have the time, that is great too. I am not going to maintain his coat myself as I have bad arthritis in my fingers, but I need instructions so I can make our staff do it for me. Let me know what works for you. I am pretty flexible. Thanks, DeAnne

 Re: Grooming Seminars
Let me know when you are on the left coast. You seem to groom them with a much shorter coat than most do out here.

 Re: Grooming Seminars
Quick question on grooming.. we are unfortunately no where near a 'BRT knowlegable' groomer. Should we ask local groomers to give our puppy a 'Bouvier style' cut? Thanks for the help!

 Re: Grooming Seminars
I am a dog groomer in western PA and have read alot about grooming a BRT but have not had to oppurtunity to do one in person. The cut to me seems like a modified soft-coated wheaton terrier cut. Not that I do not like the Bouvier style but the shaved in neck and ears are much prettier then the bouvier cut. I hope to one day have my own BRT to style. One quick question there hair is it more like a Giant Schnauzer in texture? Maybe a little softer? Do they matt easier?

 Re: Grooming Seminars
In my experience, some BRTs matt quite easily, while others seem to not at all. I had schnauzers, and the coat does seem similar to me in texture, but the BRT is denser.

 Re: Grooming Seminars
Thank you I have heard that the texture of the coat varies one being curly and alittle softer or wavy and crisper... Im not sure if crisper is a word but that is all I got.

 Re: Grooming Seminars
Any chance that you will ever be out in the Los Ageles area or know of someone in this area that knows how to groom BRTs?

 Re: Grooming Seminars
what a great seminar thank you to all the participents . thank you to the judges as well that came to the seminar. i was very happy with the comments that were made and the questions that were asked. a lot of the judges were very pleased that there is a seminar and that they could see how the black russian was suppose to the groomed. they also mentioned that they now understand why they are to be groomed in a certain way. i hope for more judges and owners and handlers to participate in the seminars so they can see how and why a black russian is groomed the way they are. the judges were also very pleased with the variety of dogs and coat textures i brought with me. they like how all of our dogs were very well mannered and tempered. well enough for now i hope to see more of our puppy owners at a grooming seminar soon.
